LLS MWOY Great Gatsby Gala

Each year, dedicated candidates from communities across the country engage in a competition to earn the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) "Man & Woman of the Year" titles. Raising funds for LLS blood cancer research, the candidates compete in honor of children who are local blood cancer survivors, the Boy & Girl of the Year. 

My friends and I participate in the LLS Man/Woman of the Year campaign every year, and this year I was nominated by MWOY Alumnus Derek Kelly to be the official candidate. We have all been touched by cancer throughout our lives and this is one way choose to come together and donate our time and resources. Every dollar we raise throughout the campaign counts as one vote and the candidate who gets the most votes/raises the most money is named the Man or Woman of the Year. Our goal is to raise $50,000 or more through a series of fundraising events during the campaign. 



This year we will be hosting a Great Gatsby themed gala at the Maritime Parc in Jersey City, NJ on Saturday, May 6, 2017. This GoFundMe site is primarily for the purchase of tickets and sponsorship for the event Beginning on April 4 you will be able to make a general donation on our LLS  page. 
 
This is sure to be an absolute blast at a stunning venue! The event will feature a live band, delicious food, a well-stocked premium open bar, and a silent auction. . 

Tickets are available for a $150 donation, and there are several other exciting sponsorship opportunities detailed below allowing you to be an integral part of this exciting event. I hope you will join us (and of course, dress the part!) in surpassing our fundraising goal for this tremendous cause.
