Lisa Medical Expenses Phys. Rehab

Hello!  After working different jobs (to pay for school and household needs) and going to college for over 10 years, I finally stepped into my own classroom and realized my life long dream of becoming a special education teacher! My husband and I were raising 5 children at the time. We were living the American Dream! Then at the age of 42 I had a major stroke. However, that was not going to stop me. By the grace of God and a great rehab team I made it back in the classroom the very next year. Little did I know that was the beginning. Over the next 10 years I have had 2 more strokes, developed Epilepsy, and had both knees and my right hip replaced. As you can imagine my medical bills have increased with each medical need. As the result of an infection, both knee replacements have failed! Through all these medical problems I continued to teach until the past 2 years when I took an early disability retirement. I became  bedridden except for Dr. Appointments and church services. Fortunately I was given a scooter to help me attend those. However, I can't buy a handicapped accessible Van that would allow me to load the scooter. Someone has to ramp it up in the back of our 2007 Van. Due to the problems with getting out I have been spending my time in bed.  Because of my right side weakness, resulting from the strokes, I can't sit up for over an hour or so at best. This year I was referred to a Neurologist who says he can help me walk and become more independent again. Imagine my joy! My outpatient therapists referred me for inpatient care at the Medical Rehabilitation Center in our local nursing home. Unfortunately, I learned that I will need an additional $5,000 to pay for my deductible and co-pays in order for me to take advantage of  this last chance to ever walk and get out of the bed. I have 5 children and grandchildren who need me.  Please help me do this for my precious family and for myself! I love to go to church and participate in the activities. My youngest daughter sings in the Youth Choir. It would mean so much for me to be able to accompany her on some trips. I have spent my life teaching those with special needs. Now I find myself with my own disability. Please help me raise the money for an inpatient therapy stay. I believe this is the answer to my prayer! Thank you for your support.
