Specialist Liver Surgery Needed for Sangria
Donation protected
When we adopted Sangria from the SPCA, it was love at first sight, and she has become an integral part of our little fur family.
Last month, Sangria saw a specialist for a few symptoms she had been experiencing. The internal medicine specialist found a tumor on her liver. The surgery is necessary, and a bit urgent, as the tumor is causing anemia and could rupture if not removed.
The good news is that the surgical team is confident they can remove the tumor and that she is a good candidate for the surgery. It will be curative. It necessitates an ICU stay with 24-hour care for a few days afterward.
Her surgery is scheduled for December 14. Unfortunately, we cannot afford the hefty $5,800 fee on top of the $1,000 we already paid for the ultrasound and consultation.
We would be grateful for any help, and thank you in advance.
Note: The vet estimate is in the updates section (November 23rd update).
