Local aquarium learning center needs public's help
Donation protected
We are a small educational aquarium that is active and established in the Los Angeles community for over 5 years. Located in Newhall, a sub area of the Santa Clarita Valley, we have been dedicated to educating the public about marine life through our outreach programs and visits to our facility. Our small aquarium houses over 100 species of marine animals and other educational resources such as real life size replicas of large sharks and fish. Our goal has always been to create awareness and respect for oceanic life. Through education we hope to enlighten our youth at an early age about marine life and erase misconceptions such as the danger of sharks. We want future generations to treat them kindly and without unwarranted fear. Our visitors get a hands on experience with marine life such as starfish, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, crustaceans, and even get to pet small sharks! We run mostly off donations and due to the current pandemic, have been closed and we are in the process of reopening (as are most of the large aquariums). We need the public's help to get back on track. We are asking to raise money in order to cover the heavy expense of running such an operation. We are analogous to a museum in our community and we believe we need educational resources more than ever in our LA community. Any generous amount would go towards expenses such as paying for back rent of our facility and utlities. This is our first time running a gofundme campaign and we hope to possibly accumulate enough funding from our community to acquire
-new aquariums
-life support equipment
-livestock and fund care/food/supplies for our current livestock
We have adjusted our financial goal to include those things..Thank you for any amount in advance and a little from all will help reach our goal if we unite in this effort.
