Local child requires medical funds

We are raising funds to help defer some of the costs for Andrew's medical care.  Being diagnosed with a life-threatening neuromuscular condition having no cure, we face a huge financial mountain to climb.  Andrew's medical condition impacts all muscles from swallowing to breathing to walking.   His first emergency occurred at 3 days old and for the first 2 years he experienced numerous respiratory and cardiac arrests.  These extremely serious emergencies required him to spend many months hospitalized in the PICU.  His numerous specialists arranged for a medically fragile child status and he remained homebound until recently.  About six months ago, one of his medical professionals made the profound statement, "We have moved past the stage of just trying to keep Andrew alive; now we need to focus on his future."  It is for Andrew's future and providing him the treatments/equipment he'll use on a daily basis we're asking for your financial help.  Since Andrew is still unable to walk, we have been working with a wheelchair clinic (photo above is the sample wheelchair we used for a home trial) and are trying to order him a custom pediatric wheelchair.  With the need for a wheelchair, we will also require home modifications including a ramp as well as a van to transport Andrew safely to his numerous doctor/therapy appointments.  

This was an extremely difficult decision to post this request for financial help.  As any parent, we only want the best for our children.  All funds raised will be used for Andrew's medical needs.  Thank you!
