Donate to this schoolhouse in Comayagua, Honduras

Hi, my name is Karla Munoz. I am a teacher at Freedom Elementary in DeLand, FL. I am visiting the country of my birth, Honduras, and volunteering at the local community school in the town of Comayagua, Honduras. I’ve started this fundraiser to help build another classroom for this local schoolhouse. The children of the community get their education in this one-room schoolhouse. There are 35 students enrolled in the school between the ages of six and twelve years old. There is one teacher who teaches first grade through sixth grade to all of the students. Their school population has increased, so they are in need of a larger space, which would be achieved by adding another adjacent room to the schoolhouse. The students also need notebooks, pencils, backpacks, and updated school books to learn their curriculum. The funds raised would go towards purchasing bricks and roof materials to build the classroom addition. It would also go toward the purchase of school supplies and playground materials for the students.

brick materials: $500
roof materials: $650
construction materials (cement, rods, etc.): $250
playground supplies: $50-100
school supplies: $200
school books (for curriculum and for class library): $300-350
