Local family tormented by heartless Rioters
Donation protected
The recent riots spread to Middlesbrough this weekend, and I found myself in the centre of it all through no fault of my own. As a carer for 3 different people with different special needs, I rely on my car to drive to and from my patients' homes. During the riots, my house was targeted, with rioters smashing my living room window and damaging my car worth £12,000 making it a write off, leaving me unable to get to work. Unfortunately, my insurance company will not cover the cost of the damages as they don’t cover if a riot occurs.
I am kindly requesting the help of the community to fund a new car so that I can continue my vital work for these people as that was my source of income and help for them.
I arrived in this country in search of a better life from Pakistan. My children were all born in Middlesbrough, and we have always been part of the community, never bothering anyone. As my children grew older, I wanted things to be better for us all.
Learning to drive made a big difference in my life, allowing me to work and support my family. My husband started his own shop selling mobile phone accessories in an area plagued by high antisocial behaviour. Despite having items stolen from the shop 12 times in 7 years, we keep battling on because it’s all we can do.
Any contribution to help us during this difficult time would make a huge difference. Thank you for your support.
