Huntingdonshire Indoor Skatepark Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hi everyone, I’m Dave and I am raising funds for an indoor skate park in Huntingdonshire. I aim to achieve this by getting donations from the extreme physical challenges that I do, pushing the boundaries of what the human body can endure. More on that later.
Skateboarding has gained popularity in recent years, with more and more people taking up the sport as a hobby. This increased popularity has helped to raise the profile of skateboarding and bring it into the mainstream. Yet over the winter months it becomes almost impossible to skateboard at the outdoor skateparks due to wet and slippy conditions.
An indoor skatepark would provide a safe and sheltered space for skateboarders to practice and improve their skills all year round. Serve as a community gathering place and encourage socialisation, They can also provide economic benefits by attracting visitors and supporting local businesses.
Skateboarding was recently added as a demonstration sport at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, and it is scheduled to be a full medal sport at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. This recognition by the International Olympic Committee has helped to raise the profile of skateboarding all over the world which I anticipate will see continuous growth of interest in new participants taking up skateboarding.
My Previous Challenges
As I mentioned above I have been doing physical challenges for a few years now raising money for charities. Here’s what I’ve done previously.

My Previous Challenges
As I mentioned above I have been doing physical challenges for a few years now raising money for charities. Here’s what I’ve done previously.
- Incremental daily push ups, 66,795 during 2020
- Ran a 100km ultra marathon in 2021 raising £420 for RSPCA
- 4,100 push ups live streamed for 24 hours on YouTube raising £1,540 for Ben Raemers Foundation
My 2023 Challenges
For 2023 I have set myself 3 challenges to complete. They are as follows.
4x4x48 Run - March 3rd 2023
Created by David Goggins (ex Navy Seal) the 4x4x48 challenge will see me running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours reaching a total of 48 miles ran over the 2 day weekend. Broken sleep is all part of the deal here as I’ll be needing to run during the night, catching naps here and there in between runs.
I will be starting this challenge on Friday 3rd of March at 6pm. If anybody would be interested in joining in a run then let me know and I can add you to the Facebook group I’ve set up. I’ll be doing 12 runs during the weekend, you can join in as many of them as you wish. Even if it’s just one it will be great to occupy me to help keep me motivated.
Three Peaks Kettlebells - 30th June 2023
The Three Peaks challenge consists of you having to reach the 3 of the highest peaks in the Uk (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pile & Snowdon) within 24 hours. The twist for me is I will be carrying x2 20kg kettlebells with me, one in each hand. This will dramatically increase the difficulty factor.
I will be starting this challenge on the 30th of June 2023. If I succeed I believe I will be the first person to do it whilst carrying kettlebells.
Equinox24 (24 hours of 10km Laps) - 16th September 2023
This will be the ultimate test of endurance for me as I aim to run as many 10km laps in the Belvoir Castle grounds in Leicester within 24 hours.
I will be doing this challenge on the 16th of September 2023. If you would be interested in attending too then let me know.
Let’s Get an Indoor Skate Park Going
I’m hoping that by succeeding in these challenges I can continue to fundraise to help turn this indoor skate park from an idea to a reality. I wouldn’t have developed the mindset to do these challenges if it wasn’t for the skills I learnt from skateboarding. It has helped keep me driven in so many different aspects of my lift. Also the freedom of skateboarding is one reason why so many people enjoy it. You can look at it as an art form a sport or a hobby. It has a positive impact on people in all kinds of different ways.
Please do consider donating to this cause so that everyone who benefits from skateboarding can continue to experience it all year round.
Thank you.
