We are Koreans immigrated from South Korea 1989. Our whole family immigrated to the US to live a dream. Our first dream left to dust in April of 1992. Everything we brought with us to the US were left in ashes. Since then my fmaily worked hard. I started working as soon as I graduated from high school. We gathered enough to open our store at the Washington swapmeet.
My uncle and I have been operating a shoe store in Crenshaw District for the last 14 years.  We had good relationships with our customers. We fought through the recession. We fought through Covid19. Then at last news came. We were so happy to hear LA County gave us the go to open retail stores.  Our swapmeet was supposed to start operating again 6/1. Then tradegy happened. Late night May 30th our store got looted. Next morning, I received a call from my neighboring store. Our swapmeet got looted. The damage was severe. Looters broke through my door and left me with empty boxes. My uncle was very worried when the news of looting was happening all over LA. His store in the King swapmeet got burned down in 92.
This store was our only source of income. Now we don't have a clue what to do. I am hoping this reaches to the community we served for the last 14 years. I am hoping we can get a push restarting our business to serve our locals for the next 14 years. Thank you for your time.
