Local Store Needs Help!

Hi my name is Alisa Woods, owner of A Beautiful Life furnishings in downtown Chico CA. I came to Chico 9 years ago with a dream I have had for 20 years. I love interior design, furniture and fabric. My dream was to open a retail store that provided great design at an affordable price. We brought in goods that make any home have that great layer look.

I moved to Chico because this is where my brother an sister in law live and I was able to get my parents here as well. the idea that we could be close when they need some help. They were the ones who believed in me and loaned me the money to open the store. We have grown and expanded over time and I was very hopeful in the end of 2021 that we would truly be a viable long term business. Then Covid hit. We have struggled with everyone else – being creative in adjusting to this new normal. Also on the list were several health issues for me. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022 and went through surgery and radiation therapy. Then my hip began to fail me and now after exhaustive efforts I am finally scheduled to have replacement surgery in August.

All of this has taken a toll on me both physically and financially.

Today I find myself in a bind – I am asking for help from you my local clientele. I have set up a GoFundMe to help me keep the store open while I recover. Any donation will be helpful and truly appreciated.
