Locks of love - fundraiser and hair donation
Donation protected
In October Mom & I will donate our hair to a charity that makes wigs for sick children. We first donated our hair in May 2017 when I was 4 years old. This time we are adding on the option to sponsor us, helping raise money for charity’s that we really care about.
Charity number 1 will be St Frances hospice . They helped and supported my family as my grandad had a short battle with cancer in 2018. He was so proud of me when I first donated my hair, I will keep him in my memories as I prepare to do it again.
Charity number 2 will be Muscular Dystrophy Ireland . Remembering my big cousin Steven who died in 2018 aged 39 having fought a brave fight, never giving up hope and always inspiring those around him.
Charity number 3 will be The Gavin Glynn foundation . We chose this charity in memory of Ben ‘Batman’ Farrell. They supported Ben and his family throughout his entire journey with cancer. His story is what initially prompted us to give back to sick children, to keep them in our thoughts, and to find gratitude for all that we have.
All monies raised will be divided evenly between the 3 charities.
The Little Princess Trust , where our hair will go, is a UK charity that provides real hair wigs to children suffering hair loss due to cancer treatment and alopecia in the UK and Ireland, up to the age of 24. Wigs are funded or provided free of charge by the charity.
On October 11th 2019 we will go to Brown Sugar to have our hair cut and we will share with you all the experience. Currently my braid is 9inches and my Moms is 11inches and Little Princess accept lengths from 7inches.
