Logan and Joe's Medical Fund

We started this fund to help our brother, Joe McMillion and his beautiful family. Joe, Beth, Lacey, and Logan are an active, busy, involved, hard working family. In fact, looking at them, you would never know (and they would probably be the last to share) their struggles.
Twins Logan and Lacey are vibrant and athletic, typical teenagers. However, Logan was born with Cystic Fibrosis, a disease that affects the entire body, especially the lungs and pancreas. His entire life Logan has had to take a daily cocktail of expensive medicines, do his breathing treatments daily, and 30 minutes of chest physical therapy twice a day. Insurance covers a portion of the costs, but as you can imagine, this is a disease that currently has no cure and the out of pocket costs are massive. As the teenage years have progressed, Logan has also had to spend some weeks in Iowa City at the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital, which specializes in treatment of this disease. Joe and Beth work 3 jobs between the two of them, but they are not salaried. When they take time off to care for Logan, they do not get paid.
In addition, last spring Joe was diagnosed with Stage 3 Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. The cancer is one that is slow growing and it is unique in that Joe currently is being watched, but not treated. This will eventually change, and these costs in addition to Logan’s care is more than anyone should have to bear. We are hoping to help with their debt incurred and help take some of the financial pressure off so they can focus on finding good health and continuing to enjoy their busy, active lives.
