Logan’s Recovery

Hi, my name is Kim. I’m Logan’s mother and I am asking for any help we can get to ease the financial burden placed on him and his family. He and his family would never ask for help, so here comes momma.

Logan was in a horrible motorcycle accident September 30th on his way home. Praise God he’s here and breathing. The only information we have right now is the driver of the car was sited for failing to yield the right of way. From my understanding Logan tried his best to avoid the vehicle but was unable to do so. The car either turned in front of Logan or into him. This accident left Logan with his ulna and radius sticking out of his skin, also his tibia and fibula protruding out of his calf, road rash, bruises, cuts and scrapes. He is currently in the trauma ward at Vidant Hospital in Greenville, NC. At Vidant they performed a 5 hour surgery and inserted a rod in his tibia and plates on his ulna and fibula. I don’t even know how many staples and screws he had placed. He will be there for days to come until they deem it safe for him to go home. We’ve been told he will then need extensive physical therapy and be unable to work for at least 4 to 6 months depending on his recovery. The doctors are very concerned with nerve and vascular damage due to a large laceration that went from his shin bone to the back of his calf. He may need other surgeries in the future. At this point only time will tell.

Logan is a veteran and served in the Coast Guard. When he got out, he and his family moved back home to Beaufort, NC. Logan is/was a bartender/cook at The Royal James and hopes to return to work there when he recovers.

Logan is married to the love of his life Paige and has 4 young children, Oliver, Connor, Wyatt and McKenna. His family means the world to him.

It is important to me that Logan is able to focus strictly on recovery and not how he is going to pay his bills or contribute to his family. I need him mentally and emotionally in this and not stressing about something he had no control over.

All funds raised will go to paying bills, food, utilities, diapers (two are still in those) a ramp to get into his house, couple of small ramps and modifications in the house to accommodate a wheelchair and then a walker, Etc.

He may be a grown man but he is still and always will be my baby.
