Our artists are both independent contractors and employees of our small women owned salon company. To do our part and protect the health of our team, guests, and the general public we have decided to close the salon for two weeks.
Experiencing the cancellations that follow the ban on dine in restaurants, and the advice to self quarantine and take part in social distancing we are unable to perform services at this time.
Our artists earn commission and gratuity or an hourly rate of which ever is higher. The hourly wage of a tipped employees is only 6.40 per hour, with our team always earning more in commission and gratuity. The other part of the revenue goes towards the business expense. Not being able to perform services is a hardship on our entire team and company. We are asking if you'd like to donate to a fund that will be split by our support staff and our service providers to help supplement their income while the shop is closed and no income is able to be produced, we would be extremely grateful.
Our team will be researching any resources made available by the government, and our industry associations to help us navigate during this time.
In 2020 we began offering a group health care plan to our full time employees that will give them access to a group rate. Logan Parlor will continue to implement benefits to our employees as the salon company grows. The health and safety of our employees and guests are of the highest importance to us. We are doing what we can to ensure a healthy, safe space for our team.
Being a small business, and this virus not being covered as a business interruption through our insurance, we have no idea right now how his will affect us. We ask that you continue to come support us and get great hair when it is safe.
Thank you for your support during this time,
The Logan Parlor Crew
