Logan Wingert - Hit & Run Pedestrian Accident
Donation protected
On Thursday September 28th, 2023, at 10:20pm in Lanham Maryland, 22-year-old Logan Wingert was struck by a vehicle while he was walking (on the sidewalk) to a local store. The driver of this vehicle did not stop. Thankfully a passing vehicle witnessed this hellacious accident and pulled over to render aid and call for paramedics as well as the police. If you know Logan, you know he is looking at the very brightest side he can. He is very thankful to be alive, and says "GOD IS GOOD".
Currently, Logan is in Critical, but stable condition. Logan had some amazing guardian angels with him that evening. Although he has suffered many serious injuries, no injury was life threatening. Injuries currently include a partial left lung collapse, road rash throughout his entire body, a severed quadrilateral tendon, fractures ribs, broken hip (femoral head - snapped off his leg), let alone the mental strain and overall soreness his body is experiencing due to the impact. Logan has already had one surgery, and will require another. His first surgery was to repair his severed tendon and remove the part of his hip that was snapped (femoral head). His next surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, and at the age of 22, he will require a full hip replacement. After this, a lengthy physical therapy regiment will be in place to help him bounce back as quickly as he is able.
Logan attended Bowie High school for 2 years, and obtained his high school diploma from Penn Foster High. Before this accident occurred, Logan was preparing to enlist in the United States Army in the spring of 2024. His hobbies include fishing, dirt bike riding, and going to the gym. He is the epitome of outdoorsy, and athletic. It is likely the injuries sustained will significantly delay, if not prevent him from obtaining his career goals.
The local police department is doing all they can to help the Wingert family locate the vehicle and driver that struck Logan on Thursday. All we know is that the vehicle was a white transit van. If you know anything about this accident, please contact the Prince George's County Police.
Until the demon that struck Logan is located, Logan as well as his family will sustain many financial hardships. We are asking for your assistance to help support the Wingert Family during this time. Funds will go directly to Logan to fund his medical bills, financial losses, and financial necessities during this time.
No donation is too small. If you are unable to donate financially, the Wingert family completely understands. They would appreciate your words of encouragement and prayers at this time. They say it takes a village, and currently we are asking the village to come together to support this family in need.
If you prefer to send cards, gifts, meals, ect to the Wingert family, please contact Jennifer, Tommy, and Logan directly at [email redacted]
