After 6 years of hard work, I have been selected to participate in the biggest race of my life. Le Tour de l'Abitibi is a junior bicycle stage race that will be held in Quebec, Canada. When it started in 1969 it did not include non-Canadian teams. But now it is an international competition and part of the Junior Nation's Cup. Le Tour de l'Abitibi is renown as the biggest Junior stage race in the West, and I have the honor of representing our country in this race.
There isn't a day that passes where I do not reflect on the numerous opportunities I have been blessed with, and the people who have helped me recognize and seize those occasions.
When I graduated from Tucson High School last May, my mother and I were faced with an overwhelming obstacle known as college tuition. However, just as I poured all of my existance into being selected for l'Abitibi, I poured all of my existance into securing my future education. I will be attending Colorado State University in the fall, and because of my determination to see my goal achieved, I will be attending CSU on a full scholarship.
I have been chosen to claim a position as a leader among my fellow pupils in academics. Now I am being called as a leader for my fellow riders and teammates, and I need your help to be able to answer this call.
I have turned myself inside out to get this chance, but I can not fully realize it without your support.
