Loki Needs Double Hip Replacement! :(

Donation protected
Anyone who knows Christine knows how much she loves her dog, Loki.  He was a gift from her husband last year who quickly became part of the family. Who knew such a big personality could fit inside such a tiny (and extra fluffy) animal.

Loki can win anyone over with his charm. He will share his toys and favorite blanket with you. He even puts them away when he’s done. But most of all he likes to be around people, and collecting hugs from anyone who will give them. My sister absolutely adores this puppy, bringing him everywhere she goes. He actually sits in the backseat of the car, because I’m not sure he understands the fact that he is not human.

This winter, Loki got hurt. He tripped down a few steps and dislocated his hip.  We later learned that the injury was not caused by the fall entirely, but that he had a pre-existing condition from birth and should not have been sold to my brother-in-law in the first place.  To make a long story short, after multiple trips to several different veterinarians during the pandemic, Loki needs surgery - and not just any surgery, either.

According to the best orthopedic veterinarian we could find, Loki needs a DOUBLE HIP REPLACEMENT.

Imagine how absolutely awful this must be for this sweet puppy who is just days over a year old?  His rehabilitation will be horribly painful and stressful to everyone in our family. But that’s not all.  For being the best dog-parents I have ever met, my sister and brother-in-law have inherited a $20,000 bill for this surgery. This breaks my heart because, in a world where so many people would choose to put an animal down for being so sick, my sister is scraping together anything she can to save her dog’s life. He is a member of the family, and we couldn’t imagine our lives without his fluffy presence.

I know this is an awful time to be asking for support.  But if you are able and willing to make a donation of any size to this cause, I know how much it would mean to my sister and her family.  Thank you in advance for your consideration.
