I’ve dreamt of putting on my very own music festival for years now, the only thing I’m not that experienced in is site management, logistics, licensing, bar management, security, accommodation, parking, artist liaison, etc, yep, pretty much EVERYTHING that is needed to put on a festival!
With this Corona Virus thingy putting a halt to all live gatherings for the next few months, I thought I’d set up a podcast festival! In a nutshell, it’ll be me bleating on about the bands and playing the tunes but in a more structured way. I will have different stages that will showcase different musical styles and acts from around the world as well as a headline stage which will play some of today’s mainstream giants that are currently making the big dollar on the worldwide scene.
Stage List;
The Sphere Stage (Main Stage)
The Not Quite The Sphere Stage (Second Stage)
The Pogo Stage (Punk)
Brighton Rock (Alternative/Rock)
Shoegaze Heaven (Classic Indie)
The Foundry (Metal (Black/Death/Speed)
Jazz Club….Nice! (Jazz/Soul/Funk)
Together in Electric Dreams (Electronica/Electro Pop)
The Wilderness (Anything a bit quirky)
The Bronx (Dance/Hip Hop/Rap)
For Folks Sake Stage (Folk/Roots)
Once I receive details of bands, I will compile the list in the format of a classic ‘lineup poster’ and get it all over the socials so that people can look forward to ‘seeing’ (hearing) their fave acts over the course of a 3-4 hour podcast.
I will also be chatting to some of the acts performing and asking them to comment on their favourite music festivals and also some funny things that might have happened to them whilst at a festival, I'm sure there will be many!
Every penny raised from this event will be donated amongst Devon's independent music venues, some of which have been operating for the best part of 30 years and would still be going strong had this pesky Corona Virus not hit our shores.
Through musomuso, I've been attending many of these venues since the early 90's to interview, photograph and review live shows, the kindness that the owners and staff have extended to me over the years is incredible so I want to do something to help them for a change.
It's at times like these that independent venues need that little helping hand to pay their rent, rates, bills and anything else that keeps on charging despite them not being able to open.
Please donate if you can so we can help them to get back on their feet again once we return to something that resembles 'normal'....
Thank you.

PS. Socially distanced gigs should be a laugh, can you imagine moshing to bands like SNUFF but keeping 2 metres apart.....LOL!
