Aussie Vets helping Lombok animals in crisis

At Yanchep Vet Hospital we have the opportunity every day to see the value that pets and other animals bring to all our lives. Keeping them safe and healthy really matters to us. In some third world countries veterinary care is not readily available and many animals suffer needlessly. Dogs and cats live in the streets and receive little or no care. Many of them are homeless. In many places, veterinary care just isn't accessible which leads to pet overpopulation, spread of preventable diseases within the pet population as well as unnecessary pain and suffering for animals that are sick or injured.
With more tourists travelling to Lombok and the area becoming more and more popular we want to ensure the animals don’t get forgotten. Our team is very passionate about helping the animals live a long and healthy life.
Lombok is a country where male dogs are used as guard dogs and the females are turfed our into the streets and beaches to fend for themselves . They soon become pregnant and the cycle of suffering continues.
This month, we will travel to Lombok, Indonesia to participate in a community wide spay and neuter campaign and provide routine veterinary care for the street dogs and beach dogs. A local vet in Lombok and Yanchep Vet are collaborating to make this project successful. We’ve booked and paid for flights for our vet and nurse to travel and assist in surgery and caring for these animals. The whole project is funded privately with a large commitment of time and funds by a private Veterinarian in Lombok: Dr Gde and Lombok Animal Rescue, as well as Yanchep Vet Hospital. There is still a need for more medications and some medical equipment and supplies. We are asking for your support in helping to raise money for medicines and other materials required.
Thank you all in advance for any support you are able to provide, monetary or otherwise, to this very worthy cause. We can guarantee that any donation you are able to make will help make a difference in the lives of these animals and their people. The animals of Lombok greatly appreciate your generosity!
We are planning to send vets and nurses to Lombok on a continuing basis over the next year. Together we can make a difference!
