London Half Marathon for SeeNepal Foundation

Hi, my name is Hima and I am participating in The Big Half London Marathon, on September 2024. This will be my longest ever running event which I am very excited to be part of it.

I want to dedicate this and make a difference in other people's lives through SeeNepal Foundation. The Big Half is a 13.1 mile course through London from the Tower Bridge to the Cutty Sark, in Greenwich.

SeeNepal's upcoming project in September 2024 will take place in Lumjung, a very rural village in Nepal. I am also excited to be volunteering in this project as additional support for the team. This project is close to my heart as my Grand dad was born in Lumjung . Through his experience, he expressed that there was a lack of essential eye care. As a result, people suffered and still continue to because most of them have never had access to eye care. Through this project, I look forward to seeing the direct impact being made to the local people of this special place.

About SeeNepal Foundation:

Our deep desire to give back to the community deprived of basic eye care is what led to our first outreach project in 2018, “Glasses to Gorkha” in Nepal.

Although our initial focus was to improve eyesight, after a hugely successful outcome and seeing hundreds of happy and extremely grateful villagers, we realised the bigger impact we can have to improve the quality of people’s lives in the financially and geographically challenged areas of Nepal.

And so SeeNepal was born.

Our short-term vision is to make essential eye healthcare accessible to rural Nepal.

Long term, our vision is to raise awareness in rural communities on sight loss and common causes of blindness.

With over 15 years of experience in eye healthcare, our highly skilled team of optometrists, dispensing opticians and professionals work together to fulfil the vision of SeeNepal.
