London, Lauren, and Diane need help

London, Lauren, and Diane survived a major car accident and need our support. London Hampshire and Lauren Spetnagel left Cincinnati after work on Feb. 28 with their Grandma Diane, 6-month-old Great Dane puppy Chai, and cat Diesel, to South Carolina for their beloved niece’s 1st birthday party weekend celebration.
At about 1 a.m., less than an hour from their destination, they collided with a tractor trailer that had just previously overturned on the highway, blocking both eastbound lanes. Their Jeep smashed into the undercarriage of the semi going highway speed.
Each of them sustained multiple injuries and are in the hospital in SC now, undergoing surgeries for broken hips, pelvis, ankles, knees, legs, and deep lacerations. Their recoveries will be long and with extensive in-patient and out-patient rehab before they can go back to work and resume their lives in Cincinnati.
Their pets ran from the wreckage and were lost. But thanks to the heroic efforts of friends, the power of social media, and the local news station, WYFF, Chai, the Great Dane puppy, has been found and is, miraculously, okay!
Diesel the cat is still missing but has been spotted on security cameras and the search is still under way for him. Have you seen him? He's a neutered male with a crook in his tail...
Aside from months of missed work (the real $ need here), the three face out-of-state rehabilitation expenses; alternative therapies possibly not covered by insurance; extensive wheelchair-accessible modifications to their homes; vet bills and food; and deep, ongoing support from their community and loved ones.
That’s where we come in! The funding goal is $50,000, which will go a long way toward getting our three ladies back on their feet (and their little dog and kitty, too!). They have a long journey to wellness. And while we know this amount isn’t all they’ll need in the days, months, and years ahead, we’ll be right there with them, with prayers, healing light, and any financial support we can offer. Any amount helps.
We’ll post updates as they become available!
