London Marathon fundraiser for Bowel Cancer UK. #BelikeBrian

Hi everyone,

Bowel cancer is a devastating disease that took our wonderful Dad, husband and Grandad, Brian, from us far too soon. He was more than just a father, husband and grandfather; he was our hero, our rock and our biggest cheerleader. Watching him battle this illness with such wilful determination was both inspiring and wrenching, so now, we are fighting back in his honour.

Brian was an incredibly hard-working man with the strongest work ethic and a deep commitment to his family. He never took a sick day and continued working on the railway—a job he loved—through retirement and even throughout his illness. He was the biggest railway man and enthusiast you could ever meet, known to colleagues throughout the railway as 'The Reverend'. His dedication and resilience inspired my brother to start #BeLikeBrian, celebrating the incredible man he was.

Therefore, I'm raising funds for Bowel Cancer UK, a charity dedicated to saving lives and improving the quality of life for everyone affected by bowel cancer. Their work in research, awareness and patient support is crucial in the battle against this disease, and with your help, we can make a real difference.

Every step I take on that marathon route is not only in honour of my dad, who loved the London Marathon, but for all those who have faced this battle. Your support means the world to us and can help save and improve many lives. Whether it's a donation, sharing my story, or just cheering me on, every bit of support counts.

Let’s make strides towards a future where bowel cancer is no longer a fearsome diagnosis. Together, we can run towards a cure and honour the incredible spirit of my dad by embracing the #BeLikeBrian ethos.
