London Marathon in memory of Crocker 23rd Apr 2023

My husband Crocker died suddenly on the 24th of September 2021. Crocker's death has devasted our family.

When I married Crocker, I knew that one of us would die first, but I imagined that it would be when we were old and grey. For Maryanne and Joe, it was never a possibility that their Dad would die, especially when he was perfectly fine when they hugged him goodbye on the morning of the 24th of September 2021.

The last 18 months have been and continue to be incredibly difficult for us to navigate as not only our present but our future plans are impacted by our loss and our grief.

As a grieving parent, I am grieving for myself. I grieve for Crocker missing out on seeing Maryanne and Joe grow up. I grieve for Maryanne and Joe being robbed of their Dad guiding them through life.

I'm running the London Marathon on 23rd April 2023 in memory of Crocker and am raising money to benefit The CHILDREN'S GRIEF CENTRE, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause which means so much to me.

Maryanne and Joe have been attending the Children's Grief Centre since late last year.

The support that Maryanne and Joe have received from the centre has helped them to navigate their grief and provides a safe space for them to be heard.

The Children's Grief Centre is a free listening support service for children and young people who have experienced a loss through bereavement, separation or divorce. We support children aged between 4 and 18 years in the Mid-West but also offer support to families in other areas on request. We also strive to educate the local and national community on grief and loss.
