Long Drive for Drought 2024
Donation protected
Farmers in Queensland are facing frequent disasters including fires, floods, cyclones, storms, and droughts, which are causing substantial damage to their livelihoods. Often isolated from essential services and support networks for extended periods, the repeated onslaught of bad weather can take a toll on their livelihoods and mental well-being, resulting in significant financial strain and emotional hardship.
Despite the challenges, farmers remain resilient, focusing on overcoming each day's obstacles and sustaining their businesses to support their families and communities.
In August, I'll be participating in the Long Drive for Drought, a fundraising event in support of Drought Angels. Covering thousands of kilometers, a convoy of 40 Series LandCruisers will traverse mainly backroads from Glenden in central Queensland to Normanton in the far north. It's an opportunity to show support for farmers and raise funds for a cause close to my heart.
