Long Live Caylee Mastin: A legacy of Love

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

I am Julie Mastin, and I am humbly imploring your support and assistance in the wake of the loss of my daughter and my desire to help others. On March 14, 2023, Caylee Mastin made the devastating decision to end her own life and join her father, Donny, in heaven. Caylee was 15 years old and had a profound impact on everyone she ever encountered. She was a radiant soul with an enchanting presence, leaving behind myself and her brother, Camden.

Our journey has been one of immense loss and sorrow. I lost my husband to cancer in 2012 and my brother to a traumatic brain injury in 2020. My story is also one of incredible support, perseverance, and finding the courage to continue moving forward, no matter the obstacles.

In August 2024, I was arrested for threatening an individual whom I felt was directly responsible for Caylee's suicide. I went through an intense correctional program and currently continue a rigorous mental health program on my own. My intention is to be honest and transparent as I share my journey, in the hope that it may help someone else.

In December of 2024, I began sharing Caylee's videos from her social media accounts, and the response was overwhelming. I was surprised by the questions and outpouring of kindness and support. People wanted to know who Caylee was, not just how and why she died. The comfort and impact this has had on me have been incredible. This outpouring of love has given me the courage to share her story and my own. It has helped me make new connections and has been a healthy way for me to cope with the loss of Caylee and the devastation that followed. I am deeply grateful for this, so from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!

This journey has presented me with the opportunity to support others in their time of need. I'm driven to create a space where others who are grieving can find support, and where the mental health needs of our teens can be addressed. I want to focus on grief and mental health education and outreach. My goal is to launch initiatives that will include:

  • Podcast/ Speaking engagements to raise awareness about grief, healing, and mental health

  • Annual memorial vigils to honor those lost to suicide

  • Annual birthday celebrations to honor Caylee and provide grief resources for those in need

  • Affordable grief retreats to provide a supportive space for those navigating their grief journey

  • Partnerships with schools and organizations to expand mental health resources for teens

  • Advocacy to reduce stigma surrounding mental health and grief, creating a more open dialogue

Any contribution will help get this foundation off the ground, fund events, and create resources that will support countless individuals. Your support will make a difference for families in need, and together, we can start important conversations and bring about lasting change. Please donate, share your stories, and help us make a positive impact in our communities and schools.

I cannot say it enough, thank you for your support, love, kindness, and generosity while navigating this journey. Much love to you all, and as always, Long Live Caylee Mastin - LLCM

With sincere appreciation,
Julie Mastin
