Long Sutton & Surrounds: Save Our Landscape

Donation protected
Several villages in North Hampshire are facing the real possibility of having large solar energy production plants right on their doorsteps - the equivalent of 380 football pitches being taken up by panels and associated generation equipment.

The Long Sutton Solar Farm Action Group has a simple rallying cry: "Save our Landscape" - the proposed facilities will dramatically impact the rural scene for many, many years.  There is no real need to site them around the local villages - there are other places in Hampshire that would have little or no impact on the community, and would be easier sites to connect to the national grid.

The Group is fundraising to bring in expertise to create a strong response to any application that’s submitted – working with planning experts and other professional bodies to ensure we put forward the most compelling reasons why the Solar plant would seriously impact the local villages.

We are asking for donations from locals that will be directly impacted by the solar plants - if we are to stop them then it will take a very robust campaign with solid arguments about why this area of Hampshire should not be blighted by this commercial development. If not all the funds are required to fight these facilities, monies will be refunded to all those who donated, in proportion to the contributions made.
