Long term rehabilitation Post OP update

What an eventful 4 days it has been. I am so thankful to everyone who is by us in person and in thought I appreciate all of you.  The Post Acute Rehab to follow will be a challenge. I managed to get all the equipment which will be needed following his discharge. Monday approximately 14:30 hour Aloka was taken in for a 15 minute procedure which is routine for the GI team and surgeon. Around 16:30 allowing ample time, I started to call the ICU,  as I was in the surgical waiting room. Not knowing Aloka has Flatlined and peddled back under full code. Of course I don’t learn any of this till the following morning. Next 48 hours were exhausting as I anxiously waited bed side. They were not sure when he will come to and what Cognitive functions would be challenged so I remained bedside Praying and trying to stimulate his mind and body. Initially he starting nodding to my voice and to Ranuk. Then full blown sit up after FaceTiming with our other Son. And just like that he regained consciousness. 

Hello my name is Eranga Desilva and I am fundraising towards Aloka Desilva’s long term rehab program. He does have In’s insurance However being disabled over 8 years depreciates all funding. Aloka again remains hospitalized he suffers from Aspiration phenomena. As time passes I feel that the therapists at thee Acute rehab center just over looks him and bypasses the crucial PT, ST, OT. I have been battling these doctors, therapist got months and on because I feel that Aloka can still make a recovery with proper care. We have decided to out source some help to get him Physically better. As I am the soul bread winner in the family living has become expensive. In the past Aloka has stood by anyone who needs help. Along with me we have raised so much charity money for the needy. Now it’s his time…
