Lonnie Jacobs' Cancer Treatment

Donation protected
On April 24th, my brother-in-law Lonnie was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. That night, he was admitted to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis and stayed there for 37 days. My sister, Tara, was with him the entire time. After undergoing one round of chemo and multiple bone marrow biopsies, he was finally released to come home. On June 2nd, doctors called and said the leukemia is still at 5%, meaning a stem cell transplant would be needed.

Lonnie has had a second round of chemo and is having blood and platelet transfusions weekly while waiting to find a suitable donor. After he receives the transplant, he and Tara will need to remain close to the hospital in St. Louis for approximately 3 months while his immune system rebuilds itself. They will need lodging, food, and transportation during their stay. Currently, Lonnie and Tara are not working and will probably remain so for the foreseeable future while they focus on Lonnie's health.

Their boys, Jackson and Kaden, are also having to deal with the changes that occur with a cancer diagnosis.

Please share Lonnie's story and consider donating to help him, Tara, and their boys.
