WHAT IS LOOM?

"Associació Loom Collective" is a registered  non profit organization based in Barcelona. All the donations from this campaign will be used to realize the artistic content of the festival. 

Loom Festival is an interdisciplinary arts festival that includes interactive audiovisual installations, performances and musical acts. The festival aims at creating a surrounding art experience, that transports the audience and tackles all of their senses.  The spectator is always an essential part of the art pieces, through which current social issues are explored. The impressive 2018 edition dealt with topics such as identity, the environmental crisis, the refugee crisis, gender violence, and discrimination towards groups at risk of social exclusion. Offering the audience a chance to learn and reflect hand in hand with the artists and collectives that presented their art works.

The anticipated next edition, which will be partially financed through this campaign thanks to your help, will take place on the 4th of May 2019. It will once again be celebrated in the modernist factory Utopia126 in Barcelona and will maintain the transgressive format of an interactive circuit. The stimulating programming will include the artistic disciplines of interactive audiovisual installations, performance and music. The festival will also serve as a platform to introduce and shed a light on different micro-scenes from Barcelona and Spain. Always maintaining a balance between gender, ethnicity, and local and international acts in the artist selection.

WHAT DO WE NEED YOUR HELP FOR?

When organizing Loom festival one of our main goals is to empower, give tools, materials and space to young creatives where they can express their vision and restlessness of the reality they live in. The funds from this campaign will go directly to the physical material and tools that the artists are seeking to translate their ideas into installations and art objects.
The variety of these tools and material is very broad and will include technology, sound and light equipment, fabric and other materials.

WHO ARE WE?

Loom Collective is made up by Aitor Estagnan, Alex Nikolov, Claus Vega, Djallil Maameri, Emmy Koski, Gloria Ferrer, Jon Morales, Kateryna Lazareva, Manuel Gutiérrez, Margarita Solovyeva, Martín Maldonado, Nico Segura, Paloma Fernández y Rodrigo Agudo; a team of young creatives from every corner of the world that are seeking to find new ways of expression through art and technology.
Working from Barcelona the collective seeks to renew and diversify the artistic and cultural scene of the city via the creation of a web of local micro-scenes and innovative artistic proposals.

¿QUÉ ES LOOM?

"Associació Loon Collective" es una organización registrada sin ánimo de lucro con sede en Barcelona. Todas las donaciones de esta campaña se utilizarán para realizar el contenido artístico del festival.

Loom Festival es un festival de arte interdisciplinario que incluye instalaciones audiovisuales interactivas, performances y actos musicales.  El festival busca crear un recorrido de arte envolvente que transporte al público y aborde todos sus sentidos. El espectador es siempre una parte integral de las piezas artísticas, a través de las cuales se exploran temas socioculturales actuales. En la asombrosa edición de 2018 se trataron temas como la identidad, la crisis medioambiental, la crisis de refugiados, la violencia de género y la discriminación hacia grupos en situación de exclusión social. Ofreciendo al público una oportunidad para aprender y reflexionar junto a los artistas y colectivos que presentaron sus obras.

La anticipada próxima edición, que estará parcialmente financiada gracias a tu ayuda a través de esta campaña, tendrá lugar el 4 de Mayo de 2019 y  extenderá su duración a dos días. Volverá a celebrarse en la fábrica modernista Utopía126 de Barcelona y mantendrá el transgresor formato de recorrido interactivo. La estimulante programación volverá a embarcar las disciplinas artísticas de instalaciones audiovisuales interactivas, performance y música. A través del festival se pretende dar a conocer a jóvenes artistas de diferentes micro-escenas de la ciudad de Barcelona y España en general. Manteniendo siempre un equilibrio en la selección de artistas en cuanto a género, etnia y actos de artistas locales e internacionales.

¿PARA QUÉ NECESITAMOS SU AYUDA?

Uno de nuestros objetivos principales al organizar Loom Festival es empoderar, dar herramientas, materiales y espacio a jóvenes creativos donde puedan expresar su visión e inquietudes sobre la realidad en la que viven. Los fondos de esta campaña se destinarán directamente al material físico y las herramientas que los artistas buscan para transformar sus ideas en instalaciones y objetos artísticos.
La variedad de estas herramientas y materiales es muy amplia e incluirá tecnología, equipos de sonido e iluminación, vestuario y otros materiales.

¿QUIÉNES SOMOS?

Loom Collective es un equipo de personas apasionadas de todos los rincones del mundo que se cuestionan lo establecido y buscan encontrar nuevas formas de expresión y fusión del arte, la tecnología y los problemas sociales.
El colectivo está compuesto por Aitor Estagnan, Alex Nikolov, Claus Vega, Djallil Maameri, Emmy Koski, Gloria Ferrer, Jon Morales, Kateryna Lazareva, Manuel Gutiérrez, Margarita Solovyeva, Martín Maldonado, Nico Segura, Paloma Fernández y Rodrigo Agudo; un diverso grupo de jóvenes internacionales procedentes de diferentes ámbitos de la industria creativa. Con sede en Barcelona, el colectivo pretende renovar y diversificar la escena artística y cultural de la ciudad mediante la creación de una red de micro escenas locales y propuestas artísticas innovadoras.
