Lora the dog's pelvis operation

Hi, I'm one of the volunteers at Animal Hope Burgas, a charity animal rescue shelter in Bulgaria. We save cats and dogs from mistreatment, abandonment and injury on a daily basis.

We are currently raising money to pay off little Lora the dog's veterinary bills. (Info is available in Bulgarian further down the page)

When we were first called to rescue Lora back in June, it was because she was hit by a car. We were told her owners went abroad and abandoned her, leaving a few neighbourhood children to keep an eye on her. An X-ray revealed Lora had a broken pelvis, crushed in many places with impact to her sacrum too. She had to be taken to a specialist vet in Varna and undergo an emergency operation. The little lady made it through a 7 hour operation (!) and is starting to walk on her own again. ❤️

The total cost of her operation was 2000 Bulgarian Lev (about £885), of which we still have to pay off 1400lev (~£620). Once we manage to pay off her veterinary bill, we will once again have access to use this specialist vet, which we rely on for complex or emergency cases, and already have a cat awaiting this specialist care.

Such a large sum of money has been difficult to raise alongside our regular financial responsibilities to the animals, and the smaller veterinary bills we often have. As we are a not-for-profit organisation, all money received always goes towards the fundraising cause. We wholeheartedly appreciate any help and donations received.

На Лора стопаните заминаха за чужбина, оставеха е тук, и банда деца са се грижили за нея но преди няколко месеца, кола е блъска и я водят в Арена вет. Рентгенови снимки показаха счупен таз, много натрошен и със сакрум.

Малкото момиче беше изпратена при д-р.Пенчев в МВК Варна и смело изтърпи спешна операция от 7 часа. Фиксираха й таза и нашето момиченце почва вече самостоятелно да върви пак

Сметката й беше 2000лв, от който все още дължим 1400 лева, и докато не я изплатим не можем да заведем Сив за да му фиксират прешлените.

След като успеем да изплатим нейната сметка, отново ще имаме достъп до този специализиран ветеринарен лекар, на който разчитаме за сложни и спешни случаи и вече имаме котка, която очаква тази специализирана грижа.
