Lord of Harvest Southgate Church

Greetings in the Lord,

We need your help and support. We are reaching out to you for financial assistance through GoFundMe because we recently encountered a setback when the county engineering department sent inspectors and told us that we have to repair the church because they said that

the work done by our members was not up to standard.

Allow me to give you a brief background on how this happened:

Since we opened in 2014, Lord of Harvest Southgate has been so blessed! We are grateful to God that we can reach out and minister to the large Filipino community in the South side of Las Vegas.

Church growth was quite remarkable as more people heard about us being the only Christian church in the area and that our Sunday service was done in Tagalog!

But there came a point when we needed to look for a bigger venue because the congregation could no longer be accommodated in the small room which we were renting.

Through prayer and fasting, the Lord spoke to our beloved pastor, Bro. Arnel Silang and gave him the word in Isaiah 54:2-3 which states,

“Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, And your descendants will inherit the nations, And make the desolate cities inhabited."

We continued to pray for God’s leading and provision for a property that we could use as our church.

In 2018, we finally found a 2,208 sq. ft. /3br house which sits on a ¾ acreage; but because LOHSG did not have the money to buy the property, our pastor’s wife, Sis. Malou offered to apply for a loan to purchase the property.

When it was all said and done, members of our congregation immediately worked together to repair and renovate the building to turn it into a worship center where we could hold Sunday services, bible studies, prayer meetings, music rehearsals, training, and discipleship classes. They worked tirelessly without pay!

However, due to our limited resources and lack of experience in construction, the engineering inspectors told us that we have to rebuild and follow building standards… so this GoFundMe.

We initially needed to raise about $50,000.00 to pay building permits, architectural plans, and other documentation. However, the cost of building materials have risen considerably high so we are now looking at $100,000.00 expense budget.

Our church is a ministry of love and service – nobody is on a payroll. Our pastor, Bro. Arnel Silang and his wife hold full-time jobs and spend their time ministering and attending to the needs of the congregation.

We do not receive any support from other churches, groups, or charitable institutions. We are operating independently and trusting God for His provisions.

It is our fervent prayer to be able to continue serving the community and to keep our church doors open to more believers. With our renewed commitment, our goal is to improve and expand the church building to serve as a sanctuary for anyone who needs God’s reassuring presence.
