Me RegaLA: Lorena Andrea Birthday Charity Drive

To honor the upcoming twenty-ninth birthday of Lorena Andrea Mateo who played “Sister Lilith” in Netflix’s Warrior Nun and will play “Perla” in The Little Mermaid (2023), we (a small group of fans from Twitter) decided to launch this donation drive as a way to show our love and appreciation for her.

A few weeks ago, one of our members made it look like they have a school project they will be working on and asked Lorena Andrea via Cameo (https://tinyurl.com/LA-Cameo) which non-profit organizations she is passionate about. After careful deliberation, we have chosen Corporación Superarse as the recipient of this initiative.

Founded in 1970, Corporación Superarse (https://corporacionsuperarse.org) is a Colombia-based organization commonly known as “Superarse.” Supported by GlobalGiving, it is a non-profit institution that provides comprehensive care and protection to young people whose rights are violated (mistreatment, malnutrition, abuse, neglect, among others) or who are exposed to situations of high social and psychological risks, and who enter the state protection system in accordance to the guidelines established by the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare. The said organization is committed to providing protection to children and adolescents, supported in a model of personalization of their services and sustainability, contributing to the construction of individual and familiar life projects.

Based on the GlobalGiving data, Superarse has existing projects concerning areas of child protection, education, gender equality, climate action, and COVID-19 assistance.

This donation drive is set to a goal of $1,000 and all proceeds will go to Corporación Superarse in honor of Lorena Andrea’s birthday.
