Loretta Young touched the lives of countless people during her 59 years on earth. Beloved by family and friends, Loretta's broad smile, warm personality, gracious words, and generous hugs were her trademark. She loved to laugh, and her joy for life spread to all those in her presence. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her universe. Loretta's affection and adoration for each of them was clearly evident at all times. Her second family were all members of the Charleston Day School community, where Loretta served for over 15 years. She knew each and every child, their parents, their stories, and their dreams. She spread her love over the entire community, and she became a most cherished, precious, and valued member of the school community. She taught so many valuable life lessons to children and adults alike, mostly centered on respect and care for others. Her legacy is imprinted on the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her, share time with her, laugh with her, talk faith with her, and simply be with her. Loretta was one of a kind - unforgettable and irreplaceable.
