Loretta Williams - House Fire
Donation protected
Loretta Williams (known as “LAW” by her friends and family) of the Tsawwassen First Nation was recently displaced by a house fire at her residence in the early evening of Sunday, June 16, 2019. The fire rendered her house largely unlivable and she has since had to find other living arrangements.
As many of her friends know, Loretta has always been there for people in need. She gives so much support to so many people with so little. Loretta recently retired and we would like to pull together as a community to give to her so that she can move forward from this tragedy.
The damage from the fire destroyed her storage sheds, one of which was a brand new cedar weaving work shed, and the back of her home. That home will need to be demolished and rebuilt. Unfortunately, uninsured at the time of the fire.
Loretta is an amazing artist, weaving wool and cedar into works of art. She is very connected to her culture and teaches others wherever she travels, sharing her knowledge all over the Lower Mainland and the United States. She is also a newly elected Legislator of the Tsawwassen First Nation government.
