Hi, my name is Audrey. I have a wonderful friend who has just lost her husband. She has been a teacher for the past 26 years, 8 of which have been in our small community.
About a year after moving to our town, her husband, Brandon, through medical complications, was paralyzed. He has endured 7 years of pain and suffering. Because of his paralysis, they had to remodel their home, purchase a vehicle to accommodate his wheelchair and travel to UT many times for doctor's appointments.
Lori has gone through her own medical trials. She was diagnosed with a bone disease in her foot, which led to two surgeries and, ultimately a foot amputation last year. The reason I share this part of her story -- she has handled all of this with a smile on her face and a positive attitude. She works hard every day for her students at the middle school. She serves in her church. She has done all she can to recuperate -- so much so that she attends a weekly Zumba fitness class!
On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, Brandon Brown, her loving husband and father of two, passed away at age fifty. After enduring seven years of paralysis and his body failing, he suffered a stroke and passed away two days later
Brandon was an avid learner, earned a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management and spent eight years as a Project Manager before becoming disabled. He was especially passionate about and loved to complete remodeling projects. In addition to remodeling our three homes, he taught his sons how to remodel and completed many “projects” as they grew up. He also loved to watch documentaries and could quote all that he learned. Having a photographic memory sure helped his learning.
We all know that a teacher's salary isn't what it should be. I commend and appreciate all that Lori does as an educator - she has taught 3 of my kids! Medical bills and funeral costs will be a heavy load for her to bear. Any help you can offer with be greatly appreciated!! We love you Lori!
