Lori Bourassa’s Medical Bills Fundraiser

Hi, my name is Jennifer and I’m humbly asking for donations to help Lori Bourassa relieve some financial stress from her mounting medical bills. My brother’s darling wife has been heroically battling Meningioma - a brain tumor- since 2017. She went to her family doctor due to headaches and dizziness and after an MRI she was diagnosed with an atypical meningioma. After multiple surgeries, the doctors were able to remove the tumor. In 2018 she had another MRI showing that the tumor grew back and she was scheduled for another surgery. After that surgery she could not answer simple questions or move her right foot. Chemo & radiation were prescribed. The tumor came back again and in 2020 she did radio-surgery which caused necrosis (non-reversible tissue death) which caused more loss of cognitive functions, her thoughts, her speech, her balance and mood. Lori and Jeff went to the Mayo Clinic in December 2021 and discovered that there is not only a tumor in Lori’s brain but there is also a mass growing in her lungs. After speaking to a neurologist, an oncologist, a neurosurgeon, a pulmonologist, a thoracic surgeon, and her family doctor, Jeff and Lori realized there was nothing more the doctors could do to help her. Lori is a beloved and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Lori was also the nurse everyone wishes they could have. She lovingly cared for strangers every day of her career with a big smile and a lot of grace. When she lost her job, she lost her medical insurance. As you can imagine, the medical bills are mounting. Although your donation cannot fix her physical health, collectively, we can help alleviate the financial burden which, at least, will help reduce some stress.
