Lori Mannel's Faithful Fight to Beat Cancer
Donation protected
A few days ago my caller ID showed an incoming call from our daughter-in-law, Lori Mannel.
I eagerly answered. ”I have breast cancer” were the only words she could manage to utter through her tears. As a breast cancer survivor myself I immediately understood the fear, pain, and uncertainty in her voice.
In the weeks and months ahead Lori will undergo numerous diagnostic tests followed by surgery, and several weeks of daily radiation treatments. The fight against cancer can be physically and emotionally draining. A weakened immune system is a consequence of this dreaded disease thus putting Lori in the “high risk” category for the Covid-19 virus. Since Lori’s job as an Occupational Therapist requires her to be in close contact with her patients, her ability to continue working while undergoing treatments may be questionable.
Lori is a fighter and is determined to win her battle against cancer. She has an amazing support group made up of friends and family who love her and are praying for her.
To quote our son, Jeff they are living “ONE FAITHFUL DAY AT A TIME”.
The next few months will also be a financial strain as Lori will need to take time off from her full-time job to undergo her extensive treatment. We are asking for your support with whatever you can give to help them offset medical expenses and lost wages. Both Lori and Jeff have been a blessing to so many with their love, faithfulness and service. Anything you can give would be a great encouragement to them both.
Thank you so much for your help,
John & Nancy Mannel
