Helping Lori, incurred bills, loss of her husband.

Hi, my name is Danielle and I am fundraising for Lori Harvey. A beloved friend to many of us, located in Boone Iowa. The Harveys moved to Boone, Iowa 28 years ago come this November and bought their home together 25 years ago this month. Thomas was an ordained pastor and spoke at many retreats as well as dedicating himself to preaching to a congregation of believers in the Lord. The congregation was in Stanhope IA, Church of God The Father.

His wife Lori is a compassionate mother, grandmother, friend, (and so much more) and now sadly, the widow of Mr. Thomas Harvey. They both are truly a blessing to those who know them. They were peas in a pod united under the Lord. And what a wonderful union it was.

Thomas became ill with a persistent cough that was tragically medically overlooked until his undiscovered cancer had already metastasized and moved throughout his body. Upon diagnosis, “time” was an unfortunate reality. Lori cared for him with all of her love, and the two also traveled to North Carolina for his treatment.

Sadly, God called Thomas home. And although heaven is in good company, Lori has incurred not only the unexplainable agony of the loss of her husband, but $60,000 in medical bills that the insurance company has deemed wasn’t necessary for his treatment and care. Even down to his chest drainage tubes, his Pleurx catheters……

In short, insurance has fallen short on not only Thomas’s treatment but insuring them in the process of necessary treatments during his end stage of life care, but also burdened his wife with a massive financial load.

Lori also received a letter addressed to Thomas after his passing, from Iowa unemployment. They expect repayment of nearly $500 in benefits , and there’s an appeal hearing scheduled tomorrow morning.
