Lori's new kidney

On September 8th I was the fortunate recipient of a kidney transplant after waiting for nearly ten years and I am forever grateful for this gift.  Those of you that know me well know that I have a difficult time asking for help, always the independent one.  Unfortunately I find myself in the position of having to do so now. 
With the Murphy's Law of timing, this opportunity came at a not so opportune time in my life.  I just started my present job in October 2018; therefore my transplant came when I was employed just shy of 11 months and I am ineligible for many of the benefits that would have helped me through this recovery process by one month.
That being said, the costs of anti rejection medications, the follow up appointments 4 days a week, the medical co pays, testing and a sudden lack of income are quickly becoming overwhelming and so I am turning to family and friends for help. 
I have been humbled by the outpouring of love, prayers and offers of help.  I know that each of us has our own day to day struggles to deal with and so, if you are able to donate, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.  If you will share my story, I thank you.  If you keep me in your thoughts, I thank you.
