Lornie (Vicki) Gould Tragic Accident
Donation protected
There can be moments when the rope we hold to becomes a strand of thread, where we feel that we are barely hanging on but when the thread feels as though it's about to break, that’s when we need the love and support of our friends. Vicki and Lornie Gould are gentle and generous people who are always willing to help others. Lornie has had an arduous path in his life. A logging accident some years ago severely injured his face resulting in many surgeries. Recently, he fought a battle with throat and metastatic lung cancer. Yesterday, while gathering wood for the winter, his backhoe slipped into gear when he stood by it to turn it on. As it started moving, it caught the leg of his pants, dragging him underneath it. He was life-flighted to SUNY Upstate in Syracuse because of the extent of his injuries. The right side of his lower body was crushed, resulting in a severely fractured pelvis, broken hip, fibula fracture, and an extensive lacerations. He had to have an emergency surgery, and is facing more surgery to close his wounds. He is scheduled for a hip replacement on Friday. He has a long road to recovery ahead. Vicki, his rock and support, will need to be by his side throughout and could use our help with living and travel expenses while Lornie is hospitalized. If you are unable to contribute financially, they would appreciate your prayers and words of encouragement.
