TPMF Is A 501(C)3 Nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Medical Missions, charitable outreach and medical education that enhance the quality of life for underserved populations. The Foundation provides mentoring, training, and networking for post-graduate Podiatric Medical Residents and others, which increase access to patient care for the indigent and those in need of treatment for limb threatening diabetic complications, acquired and congenital deformities, neglected injuries and other untreated podiatric medical issues.
In 2002 the Los Ninos de la Frontera medical mission project began with podiatric surgeons traveling from Texas to Reynosa, Mexico several times a year to screen patients for surgery. In 2010 the mission project moved to San Miguel de Allende Mexico in the state of Guanajuato. The mission has partnered with the Mexican Government and the Hospital General in San Miguel to provide clinic space and operating room access for the podiatric surgeons and anesthesiologists and nurses that make up the surgical teams. In 2019 the Mission Team saw over 600 patients in 4 days and performed 50+ surgical procedures.
