Los Ositos de la Villa Vida

Villa Vida is a shelter serving adolescent mothers and their babies in an impoverished area on the outskirts of Lima, Peru. The young women living there are all victims of sexual abuse, leading to their motherhood. Without Villa Vida, these girls and their babies would be homeless. Seeing the young girls face motherhood alone and with minimal resources inspired me to begin this campaign.

Over the past two years, your generous donations have allowed for the continued support of this shelter. In 2022, we were able to install a water heater and a refrigerator in the facility, as well as bring clothes, personal care products, and toys for the residents. Upon our visit to Villa Vida in January this year, we created a computer room with 4 new laptops, thanks to the donations collected in 2023. We also installed internet access for the shelter and started computer training programs for the girls through scholarships provided by EDUTEC Peru. The funds from this year's collection will go towards improving the children's medical care and nutrition, repairing the shelter's infrastructure, and continuing online education for these young mothers. Together we can help the young women imagine a better future for themselves and their babies.
