Disabled & Losing Childhood Home--Moving Expenses
Donation protected
In 2019 we lost our mother after a battle with lung cancer. Zach, who cared for her through all of the chemo and radiation, has never lived anywhere but our childhood home. Unfortunately, we are out of money and can no longer afford to keep him in his home and community.
Zach is going to be uprooting to move 300 miles to live with his sister and brother in law. All three of us are disabled, but owing to serious gaps in disability services and coverage none of us are receiving needed assistance. Between the mess the housing market currently is in, the costs of moving entire households long distances, retrofitting the 1970's house to be legal to sell, renting storage units, and basic living expenses, we're afraid we’ll be facing major debt as a means of survival.
In lieu of Christmas, we are asking that those who love us or would like to help us out contribute to this fund instead. We can't predict how long the sale of our home will take or how difficult it will be to find a new home for all three of us. Anything and everything helps. To anyone who contributes, thank you, endlessly, for your kindness.
