Lost Bounty Treasure Hunt for Fun and Charity
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Jim, and I am trying to conduct a Nationwide treasure hunt for fun and good causes!
I have hidden 2 bottles with messages somewhere in the United States. 1 is hidden on an East coast beach and the other is hidden on a West coast beach. There are 2 riddles posted on our website: lostbounty.net, that reveal the location of each bottle. Solve a riddle to reveal the location of 1 of the 2 bottles. Then be the first person to dig up a bottle to win!
The treasure will be money generated by this fundraiser campaign. The hunt cannot begin until we have enough money to pay for any costs to run the hunt, and for the 2 winners and the 2 charities to have a reasonable amount for a prize. Once we reach a certain amount, we will then give the official start date. This fundraiser will end the day before the official start date of the contest. After covering costs, we will divide the total remainder of the donations 4 ways. The 2 winners will each receive 1/4 share of the remaining total, and 2 charities will each receive another 1/4 share. Each winner will also get to pick1 charity of their choice to be the recipients of that 1/4 share.
When thinking of a charity to play for, please consider a cause that is trying to help one of the major problems we face today. Some of the priorities I feel we need to address are: Social Justice, Government Reform, Environmental Protection, Colonialism Reparations, Health Issues, Coronavirus Relief, Humanitarian Issues, Localism Projects, Agricultural Projects, and Cottage Industry Projects. There's many more, but these are just the ones that I believe are priorities, based on my life's experience. Please think big, National or International levels, and let's make this count! No donations or purchase necessary to play, but the more participation, the bigger the prize.
We have left out words in both of the riddles, until we officially kick off the hunt. Once we begin, we will release the missing words. This will give everyone the same starting time to prevent any unfair advantage.
So why did I do this? There are many reasons, so here are some: To help out some good causes. To do something that might make a positive difference in the world for us or for our kids. To give people something fun to do outdoors. To feel a sense of accomplishment for something bigger than normal everyday things.
Going through my midlife crisis while being a single parent, was probably a big motivator too. That created a need to do something over the top, to offset having to watch Peppa Pig in my 40's.
I've done volunteer work in the past, and I believe that you get back more, then what you give. The more we do for good causes, can cause more good, and will hopefully give more people a positive direction. I feel like now is a time we need that, more than ever.
Before I came up with this idea, I spent some limited free time, searching for the Forrest Fenn treasure as a hobby. I wasn't the lucky one who found it, but the experience was uplifting, and gave me hope for better things ahead. It was exciting times, that got me out of my comfort zone, and I saw some awesome scenery as a bonus. So no regrets, except for when I accidentally discharged bear spray in my shorts while on a search, and less than 20 minutes later, had to change a flat in 99 degree weather. The most important lesson I learned that day, was to never touch my eyes or adjust myself after being in close contact with bear spray. Fun day!
This made me decide to set up my own hunt. I worked on it sporadically, and It took about a year from the initial spark to the final details. Once it was ready, I took a cross country road trip and in the span of 2 weeks, buried both bottles, and finalized the riddles.
I would like to give people that same feeling of excitement, that comes from the thrill of the hunt, and also to hope for better things ahead .
The Adventure Awaits!
