'Lost in love No More' is the overture album of the Southern Time Band's cinematic rock opera-to-be 'Southern Time.' T is the Southern Time Band's HIV positive lead singer and composer, and having another HIV positive singer in the band, Justin Anantawan, this project's primary objective is to raise HIV/AIDS awareness and combat HIV stigma.
This is where you come in.
Even though we were able to finish the recording of the album (released July 6, 2020) and make an excellent video presentation of some of the songs on the album for AIDS 2020, we do not currently have the funds to promote the album. We thought we had an investor for the promotion of the album and live streaming virtual concerts by the Southern Time Band until the end of 2020, but this 'investor' turned out to be a scam. The $5,000 we are asking for here will hopefully tie us over until we find a real investor.
T wrote the title song 'Lost in Love' for the album in 2016. This song expresses T's journey with love throughout his life, especially since living with HIV. The rest of the album follows an arc from destitution and despair to positive transformation and triumph.
T tested HIV positive in Germany in 1996 while studying the cello at a Musik Hochschule. He quit his classical music studies, came back to Canada, and then started to write songs and sing. Southern Time tells the story of how T contracted HIV, what living with it has been like for him, and the social and spiritual insights he gained because of having both HIV and AIDS.
The Southern Time Band first came together in 2018 as T was gearing up to perform and present at AIDS 2018 in Amsterdam. They rehearsed for and performed at a fundraising concert in Toronto. In 2019, T met Justin Anantawan and Justin joined the band as a backup singer. In 2020, with the aid of a recording grant, T was awarded in 2018, as the band was recording 'Lost in Love No More,' Shessi Sandu joined the ranks as the band's second backup singer.
The Southern Time Band had their AIDS 2020 'Lost in Love No More' video presentation able to view on the conference's website, and we have it here at ~ www.southerntimeband.com. The album turned out amazing, we actually created a new art form ~ '21st Century Social Classical' music (aka 'psychedelic jazzy-classical musical-theateresque art-rock'). The music is now out for the world to hear, but if there is no marketing budgeting for the music to get out there, nobody will ever hear it!
Thank you for your support. You will be making a life-long dream a reality and will be helping to show the world that HIV positive people can be just as healthy, creative, and productive as anyone else.
