Lost Inheritance Lost Life

Hello. My name is James Dawson and although I’m embarrassed to go this route I can see no alternative at this point. After 27 plus years, creating a thriving landscaping business together which is still going after 19 years, my ex partner has decided she is entitled to not only kick me out of our home but to my inheritance as well, which in total was $228K. Granted I had my father put it in her name but since we created the business everything always has been in her name. The business, the house, the land and outbuildings, several horses, Blue Cross . . . the lot. I trusted her implicitly. Apparently this was a mistake. Until 2024 I hadn’t had a bank account in 20 years, and never collected a pay-cheque from the business. My credit card was on her/the business bank account, as well as my Blue Cross. She cut off both. My inheritance was used to pay off the mortgage on our property as well as clearing land for a workshop/garage where I might use my father’s woodworking equipment to generate some income for us. The land was cleared, but construction never started. Three years I watched this while during this time she purchased a tractor, a huge work trailer for the business, and yet another equine making it five in total. When I asked about construction it was then she told me the money was gone.

She and I reached no agreement on what I am to be paid back while I try to find a new life at the age of 63, but with my current meagre funds and having to move for yet a second time since August of 2024 I’ll be on the street before the end of this year I fear. I suffer from chronic spinal pain from an accident in 1998, and after myriad scans, MRIs, tests I’m told by the spinal surgeon there’s nothing they can do for me surgically, so it’s chronic pain for the rest of my days. I also require oral surgery and 2024 was to be the year I would conquer my dental fears and use Blue Cross to start the procedures, as I’m sure it will require more than just one visit due to neglected oral care. I’ve not been able to do physical labour for many years now but for an hour here and there, and I only have training in archaeology, as a stage hand, and of course landscaping. Obviously none of which I can do any longer.

So, at this point I’m in dire need of legal funds as I attempt to get some share of the equity of all we built together. If you are able to help in anyway I’ll be forever grateful, and if you cannot I understand. Just getting by is difficult for most of us these days. Thanks for your attention.
