lost wages due to carjacking

Hello,

My name is Kesha Hartzog and I am a 49 year old Black Woman.

I have been a RCSD employee for the past 17 years . I am also a local actress and a lifetime resident of the city of Rochester. I am the employee from RCSD Flower City School 54, that was carjacked by 5 individuals by machete. I have never encountered anything like this before in my life.

The young man came to my driver side door with a machete and asked me to get out of my car. The other young people were in my passenger side door ready to jump in the car. I had my phone in my hand and was told “ Do not call the police “ with the machete pointed at me. I feared for my life and I thought they were going to physically harm me or kill me so I jumped out of my car. Two of them stayed in my car and the others got in the other car that they drove in. They drove off with all of my daily personal belongings,(wallet, license, medical insurance cards, keys, work badge, credit cards) etc. I was able to take pictures of them in the vehicles before they left the premises and I dialed 911. I ran to the school and banged on all of the windows and doors and staff and administrators ran out and came to my rescue.

The police were contacted and the school surveillance cameras were viewed in order to catch them. The police located my car near the school they gave chase and the inexperienced driver drove into a ditch. My car was recovered but it is wrecked and totaled and all of my personal belongings have not been recovered. This crime story is continuously being updated on all local news platforms. Because of this heinous crime I have to temporarily leave my second job because I’m unable to get there. This has caused me emotional and mental trauma and I feel completely violated. I know things can be replaced but I’m highly upset and totally disgusted that this had to happen at all! I’m worrying about how I will be able to afford my daily living and basic needs without my second income. The funds of $5500 that I’m asking for will help me the next 2-3 months as I have to get a car pay rent and all basic bills ,purchase food and necessities and continue daily living.
