Financial Support for the Lutjens Family

Dear Friends and Loved Ones of the Lutjens family,
As you most likely know, Heidi, Jeff, and Carrie lost their beloved father, Kurt Lutjens, on Friday, March 29th. After more than a year of increasing leg and hip pain, he was admitted to the hospital on 2/24 and was transferred to another area hospital a week and a half later. It was there that he was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic angiosarcoma. Kurt was then moved to a Hospice House on 3/22, where he died one week later. While we rejoice that Kurt is now with Jesus and is no longer in pain, we are heartbroken at the tremendous void his death leaves for so many, and especially for his children after the loss of their mom Susan 4 years ago.
Heidi, Jeff, and Carrie were constantly by Kurt’s side while he was in the hospital and in hospice care. All three were on leave from their jobs while caring for their father and helping make arrangements on his behalf. While Carrie was thankfully able to use sick leave to cover her time off, Jeff and Heidi both had to take unpaid leave.
As a community, wouldn’t it be great if we could come alongside Heidi and Jeff to offer concrete help to relieve the financial burden they have incurred while caring for their father? We see this as a tangible way to show love and support for a family who has had such a significant impact on our lives. While we can’t ease the burden of the loss of their dad, we can lessen the financial hardship that they face during this difficult time.
We would like to raise $8300 to cover Heidi and Jeff’s time away from work, so please consider giving as you are able. Of course, there are many other ways to show love and support for the Lutjens family, so please do not feel pressured in any way to give. This is just one option available for those who would like to help in this particular way. Thank you.
