Due to recent unforeseen events, my mom, Louann Matz, passed away at Passavant Hospital today on 1/12/24. As many of you know, my mom has been sick for many years but over the last two years when she had toe amputations due to her mobility issues, I had to quit my jobs to take care of her. My mom was diagnosed with congestive heart failure at the age of 50 and it progressed over the years and that’s what she died from. My mom didn’t have any of her end of life affairs in order. Regardless of how sick she was, I think she avoided the inevitable because it was too painful for her to face. Look, I’m a proud man. I’m not used to asking for help with anything but I really need help getting affairs in order and caught up to date. I’m not perfect by any means but one thing that’s never wavered is the love I have for my mother. I’m utterly lost without her. Her illnesses have definitely affected my finances and stress levels but I’d do it again and again if it meant I still had my mom here. Her wishes are to be cremated with no service.
