Help with Funeral Expenses for my Mom!

Hi my name is Lona and I’m doing this for my mom. On Dec 5th, 2023 my mom was taken to the ER at Sharp Grossmont La Mesa where we found she was in Septic Shock and Renal failure. They had planed for surgery to remove the dead tissue the following day, that surgery went well but she was still super critical and they realized another surgery needed to be done. Her second surgery was set for 11:30 am but the OR was running behind and they didn’t see my mom as an urgent case, as the evening went on she started to go into respiratory distress and the surgeon felt he couldn’t wait to have her intubated in the OR that they needed to do it in her room…well the dr missed her lungs and put the tube into her stomach and the oxygen pushed against her lungs putting her into cardiac arrest. She was without oxygen for close to 20 min which ended up causing brain damage, all her labs had finally stabled out and we were planning on rehabs untill the drs fatal mistake. On Dec 16th 2023 we had to make that horrible choice that no one ever wants to make and take her off the vent and let her go in peace. My step dad (her husband) thought he had a 10k life ins policy on her but his job said he did not. He’s had to put all this on credit cards causing him to go into debt, any help would be greatly appreciated! Every penny can help! We are hopefully looking to start a malpractice suit but that’s gonna take time! Thank you to everyone who even took the time to read this story!
